Thanks for stopping by for a visit. It has been busy around here!
I am trying to find my design style. We have been taking a closer look at the fashion industry in the class group. And, we are trying to figure out just how far we want to take our love of jewelry making.
It feels like I am back in school! All these assignments, and all I do is read read read!
Well, I have enjoyed it, that is for sure! I have been enjoying the book "Old Jewelry" by C. Jeanenne Bell, G.G. I am especially interested in the jewelry from the 1920's-1930's. If you can get your hands on a copy, check out page 257...there is a Czech green marbled glass pendant I am hoping to be gifted.
I am prepared for that not to happen, by the way.
What I'd like you to know by this photo is, I am guessing this ring is the beginning of my body of work.
Well, I told you about how I sold slag to the neighbors.....okay. This is the wildly popular ring I sold in grade school. I made enough money to buy the purse of my dreams from a girl that rode my bus. That was back in the day.
And THIS is now.....
I've come a long way, baby!
Color is what I am drawn to, and simple designs. I am working on my gift line. I know that I want to be a jewelry maker as defined by our teacher, B'sue.
I need to know my style and design jewelry that looks well together.
I have designed some pieces this month, and have used the components above. I pretty much have everything I need to create my whole line and I have a clear view. So that's good.
For now, though, I am exhausted and think I may be getting a soar throat.
And besides that, my earring fell off and it is nowhere to be found. So the point of telling you that is this:
There will always be distractions in our life. So please stay with your dreams and make small attainable goals and keep moving forward.
My goal in this class was to figure out my design style. I feel that I have started down the right path!
Let's see where it goes from here.
Wishing you all the best!
Please continue to enjoy my fellow classmates' blogs....and leave us a comment if you have a minute! It sure makes us feel great when you do!
